Mission

The FLWOR Fundation is an open source community, whose projects are focused on building an open platform based on W3C's XQuery.

The FLWOR Foundation is a not-for-profit corporation that hosts the Zorba XQuery, MXQuery, XQIB and other projects, and helps cultivate both an open source community and an ecosystem of complementary products and services.

An important aspect of The FLWOR Fundation is the focus on enabling the use of open source technology in commercial software products and services. We consciously promote and encourage software vendors to use our technology for building their commercial software products and services. This is made possible by the fact that all FLWOR Fundation projects are licensed under the Apache License version 2.0, a commercial friendly OSI approved license.

The FLWOR Foundation is focused on creating an environment for successful open source projects and to promote the adoption of XQuery technology in commercial and open source solutions.
